Schmorl's Nodes: Schmorl's nodes are not typically painful. If they are painful that would suggest recent formation with bone edema in the vertebral body. I have seen a large one once that pretty much acted like a vertebral fracture and was amenable to vertebroplasty/kyphoplasty however that is extremely rare. Most likely there are other reasons for your thoracic pain that need workup. See a spine specialist. ...Read more
