Painful Pimple Under Armpit
Sounds awful!: An infected pimple that is hurting so much that you really cannot move your arm needs to be checked by a doctor. This may need to be drained, and you may need to have antibiotics. Please don't wait on this, though, because it really can get worse. Good luck. Lgromkomd.
I have a pimple a little smaller than a pea and some other small ones in my armpit and the bigger one is painful what should I do?
Possible infection: A painful pimple under the arm can be an infected hair or gland. Try very warm wash clots to see if it will pop and if it gets bigger or does not go away then see your doctor who may prescribe a short time of antibiotics
I have a small spot under my armpit, but it's got painful the spot is only like a pimple however it has a small black dot on it, what could it be?
Abscess/folliculitis: Most women shave their arm pits. Occasionally bacteria gets imbedded under the skin or in the hair follicules of the arm pits. Your description sounds like you may have an infected area with a blackhead on the surface. You may try hot compresses to the area and antibacterial soap and water wash 3 times per day. If no improvement in 2-3 days, see your MD for possible antibiotics or drain abscess.
I keep getting pimple like bumps in my armpit. I had one recently drained but 3 weeks later I've 3 small ones. They are quite painful and come and go?
Could be: Something else. With a description like that I would be concerned about hidradenitis. It is a condition where the sweat glands become infected and cause repeated infections and abscesses in the areas of apocrine sweat glands (underarms, groin, under the breasts). You should see your primary care doc. Antibiotics and conservative therapy first, but surgery is sometimes necessary.
I have a very painful bump under my armpit...it looks like a pimple but hurts really bad and when I pop it more just come back around it.
Cyst?: Sounds like a sebaceous cyst. You may need some antibiotics and or removal of this
There's a spot on my armpit, if you press down it hurts like a painful pimple but I can't see or feel a pimple, there's a lump but I think it's my fat?
Likely a pimple or: A sebaceous cyst. Fat is not likely to hurt. Pimples or sebaceous cysts occur commonly in the axilla or armpit. It is not a good idea to try and squeeze it as you could make it break open below the skin and then you will have a worse problem. Immediate simple and safe things to do would be apply a warm pack to the area. These can calm down and resolve on their own.See 1 more doctor answer
Small pea size painful nodule under right armpit, jus noticed tendeness today, not a pimple, underneath skin. What is it?
Lymph node or cyst: It may be a swollen lymph node or a cyst / abscess. Have this spot checked by your doctor.
Painful pimple in armpit. Doesn't make white head like a zit. Won't "pop" either. Reoccurring every few weeks. I do shave my pits. What & why?
Hidradenits: Hidradenitis suppurativa (HS) is a chronic skin disease characterized by clusters of abscesses, epidermoid cysts, sebaceous cysts, pilonidal cysts that most commonly affects apocrine sweat gland bearing areas, such as the underarms. This is usually treated by excision of the infected area. See your doctor. Will persist for years if not treated.
I have been having this boils, they are like pimples in armpits and pubic hair. They are so painful and come, dissapear then re-appear.
Hair follicle infect: Most likely you have infected hair follicles. If you shave under the arms, this can occur and even if you don't. If there are enlarged lymph nodes under your arm, you may need to be seen and given an antibiotic. Sometimes these develop to the point of having to be opened up. Soap and water, avoiding deodorants if one can and very good hygiene are important. If fever or streaks, get seen.
Have a dry rash with tiny pimples and a couple lumps under armpit. Is painful to move arm around?
Warmth, Pain med, I&D: You may have inflammation of a local sweat gland or hair follicle which can be quite painful. Warm compress/ heat pad to the area and acetominophen or ibuprofen for the pain might help. However there may be a collection of "pus" which may require drainage. See your doctor for this treatment.
I been havin pimples or cyst on my armpits for 4 yrs there painful and very big n red n full of pus. What can I do about it what will be a good doctor?
See Dermatologist: This could be from shaving the area or from deodorant/antiperspirant and can be caused by a fungal infection or more likely a bacterial infection. Threre are inexpensive topical treatments and/or oral antibiotics that can help clear this up but a derrmatologist would be the best to determine the cause and find a treatment.
There's a small pimple under right armpit yesterday. It is painful when I press it gently. Now, I noticed another one under my collar bone. I don't see any pus on the head. What cause this?
Folliculitis/trauma: Could be that, or simple staph infection, why? Due to trauma, rubbing, poor hygiene? [not washing well with soap/water/washcloth to scrub off dead skin cells and oils which clog the pores, flair up pimples. if enlarge and pustule, likely mrsa, will need antibiotic like bactrim (sulfamethoxazole and trimethoprim) or doxycycline. folliculitis, hair shaft infection. Can come spontaneously. If worse see a doctor for cultures
Red Rash in armpits with painful swollen Lymph nodes but its not itchy, pimple like blisters, a few boils. Cream not working.
I have a, what I think is a small pimple, under my arm. But it has two white heads on it, and it's painful. Is it a pimple or something else?
Impacted follicles.: Sounds like this would be two impacted underarm hair follicles. This can occur due to compression from clothing, use of underarm deodorants and anti-perspirants or friction from shaving in the armpits. If you develop fevers/chills/sweats, or if the area worsens acutely, you should be seen by a doctor as this could represent something more in that context.
I have a reoccurring knot under my arm the size of a gold ball. Extremely painful. Doesn't come to a head like a pimple.
If its the: Size of a golf ball, it needs to be looked at by a doctor.
