? folliculitis: It sounds like folliculitis, a bacterial infection of the scalp similar to acne. If you look close you may see a pustule when they first break out. They are often itchy/tender and scratched at producing a small scab. They tend to come and go. There is no permanent cure, but i often treat flares with antibiotics. I would go see a dermatologist for a definitive diagnosis and treatment options. ...Read more
Red itchy hard painful bump on calf. Possibly ingrown hair. Pulled tiny sharp hair out, hurt worse. Applied bag balm. Bump smaller now, but I limp. ?
Doctor can check: A bump from an ingrown hair on the lower leg should not cause an amount of pain that would make a person limp. There could be something more serious there, and one's primary care doctor can examine the area to see what is going on. One possibility is a skin cyst (epidermal inclusion cyst) that has gotten inflamed or infected... those usually need to be opened or removed. ...Read more

These lesions may remain unchanged for a lifetime, but they can develop tumors such as basal cell carcinoma and syringocystadenoma papilliforum. I have a flesh colour mole on my scalp, had it all my life, but I do think it is a little larger but i'm unsure could this be cancerous?
It's possible: It doesn't sound too concerning since it's been there your whole life. However, if it's getting larger, you really should have it looked at and possibly removed. The only way to know if something is skin cancer is to biopsy it. And rarely, melanomas can be flesh colored. Let a doctor decide whether it needs to be removed. And avoid sun exposure on your scalp! ...Read moreSee 2 more doctor answers
I have a 6 mm congenital mole on my scalp- it's pink and I get it checked every 6 months. Always fine. Should I get it removed? Any need?
My son has 3mm mole not round shape with black colour and indian...in right side scalp. How long does it take to heal after surgical remove of mole.
Depends on method: Moles can be removed by shave or saucerization and the wound is allowed to heal, sort of like a scraped knee. Another method is to cut deeper and then close the wound with stitiches. With the shave/saucer method it can take several days to up to a month to heal. With stitches, they are usually removed 10-14 days after removal. In either case, it takes about a year for scar to get to its best. ...Read more

Removal: Typically if a mole specimen is going to be sent for biopsy, the area is numbed with a tiny needle and then removed with a blade or scalpel.
