Painful Lymph Nodes In The Neck
My son is coughing and has enlarged lymph nodes. Two small ones on each side of his neck (for over 8 weeks) and a new one the size of a cherry pit.
Three swollen cervical lymph nodes all on left side of neck some ear pain doctor HS seen one of them says wait 2 month fbc normal should I be worried?
Lymph nodes: The lymph nodes usually enlarge as response to an infection in the vicinity.It lasts maximum 2-3 weeks and as the infection goes away (with antibiotics usually) the lymph nodes disappear. Maybe: Sometimes lymph nodes react to infections and when the infection is over they stay enlarged. If the node is not tender and stable probably nothing to worry about. You would need some type of Xray to tell if it is calcified. Don't think that is worth he trouble. ...Read more

Go to see MD: You should go to see your doctor and get yourself checked. There are different things like autoimmune disorder, infection, chronic inflammation or malignancy - at your age- hodgkin's lymphoma, testicular cancer are things to be ruled out.
