Many causes: There are many causes for swollen lymph nodes and fever. Remember there is a window period for HIV testing - about 3 months and hepatitis up to 12 weeks! Not from medication: A swollen tender lymph gland is highly unlikely to be from taking a new medication. Lymph glands are situated around the body and serve to trap infectious organisms(bacteria or viruses) to prevent their spread to other areas in the body. A swollen gland will often decrease in size if there is no ongoing infection. Any swollen glands persisting after a month should by examined by a physician. ...Read more

Your DR is probably: Do not take an antibiotic unless you know you have a treatable infection. Your DR is probably correct. Scalp psoriasis which is irritated will cause large lymph nodes in the neck. You need to treat your psoriasis. ...Read more

URI: probably just a cold/viral upper respiratory infection. Try ibuprofen and acetaminophen for pain, rest, and hydrate. Should resolve within a week. However, cough can last a few weeks. See your doctor if you develop more serious symptoms ...Read more
