Keratosis or wart:
When the skin is repetitively rubbed from friction against shoes or between toes, the skin will thicken and form a hard bump or ridge that can be painful. Warts can also form, especially on the sole of the foot.
These are readily treated by your primary care doctor or dermatologist. ...Read more
In the space of a couple of hrs, I suddenly have a lump underneath my big toe. It's soft, not really painful but kinda large. I feel it when I walk?
Mysterious Lump.: Considering the time frame of a couple of hours and assuming that this lump has not been there all along, without being noticed, there are few possibilities. A leaking blood vessel, filling the available tissue space with fluid. This leak could be caused by a low grade trauma un noticed by at the time. A bite with insertion of foreign proteins could cause a quick lump to form. Ice it and see. ...Read moreSee 2 more doctor answers

See a foot doc: Without seeing it hard to know if your referring to a callous or if you have a bonafide soft tissue misuse, if its the latter it may warrant a biopsy. ...Read more

Can shoes cause lumps on feet? Have a painful and slightly bruised lump under my big toe but haven't hurt it.
I look at it this way. The slightly bruised lump was caused by:
1. Pressure on your toe with absolutely no involvement with the shoe.
2. Pressure on your toe caused by the toe and the shoe.
3. Pressure on the toe caused only by the shoe, having nothing to do with the toe's activity.
I'm betting on number 2. ...Read more
Left big toe tendon has lumps bumps and swelling along it and big toe is painful. Throbbing pain in big toe too?
See a foot doctor. The question is are the lumps or bumps really on the tendon or in the subcutaneous tissues.....either way you should be examined, much easier to make a diagnosis like that in person...
Possible ganglionic cyst is an example without seeing you but if I saw your foot inperson I would know right away if that's what you had. ...Read more
Pebble smooth and semi-loose lump on left foot, above big toe metatarsal head. Not painful when lump is moved around. What is it?
Synovial Cyst: It sounds like a synovial cyst. If it doesn't bother you, it should be just fine if left alone... it might even go away. If it starts to bother you or continues to grow, have it checked out by your family doc. Hope this helps! ...Read more

Big toes painful as there quite big and is stiff left one is worse hurts when walking now second toe is bent to side and has lump on it on left foot?
English Bunion: You have given a pretty good description of a typical bunion deformity of the great toes. The great toe is also shifting laterally or toward the little toe causing a subsequent hammering of the second toe. The stiffness is due to the excessive bone growth around the joint which not only causes pain but can also change the way you walk. All flannel aside, you need to have it evaluated for a fix. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
Can't see it.: Without seeing it I am just guessing, but most lumps on toes are not cause for big concern. I suspect you may have a bunion or corn or even callus. Digital mucus cysts and ganglia can show up there as well. Sometimes osteophytes and neuromas. More info please. ...Read moreSee 2 more doctor answers
Medium soft inner lump / abscess on the left big toe for about three months now. Become larger with time. Light blue color. Doesn't hurt. What is it?
Hard to tell:
It doesn't sound like an abcess. Either way you should be seen by a podiatrist. Any lump that becomes larger with time can be cause for concern. Hard to say without seeing it. It could be a cyst, a skin lesion, a vascular growth, infection. Get seen.
Hi, I fell & bent my big toe back earlier, there is no brooze, it's gone a bit red, slight lump on my big toe & the pain is killing. Wot do u think?
Need X-Ray: You may have a fracture of one of the two bones in your big toe. I recommend getting an X-ray to determine the level of fracture for proper treatment and healing. Get to a foot specialist to be evaluated in person as soon as you can and protect your foot! ...Read more
On May 25th I sliced the tip of my big toe open. It's healed completely, but still hurts horribly when I "stub" it & there's a numb lump under my toe?
Yikes.: The tips of toes, and fingers for that matter, just don't like to be sliced. They are typically a painful heal and the injured pain receptors will take many months to calm down completely. The numb lump is either part of the initial injury or secondary due to an altered gait. Either way, it too, will more that likely pass. I speak from experience. ...Read more
