Painful Lump Second Toe Joint Bunion
Left big toe tendon has lumps bumps and swelling along it and big toe is painful . Throbbing pain in big toe too?
I would: See a foot doctor. The question is are the lumps or bumps really on the tendon or in the subcutaneous tissues.....either way you should be examined, much easier to make a diagnosis like that in person... Possible ganglionic cyst is an example without seeing you but if I saw your foot inperson I would know right away if that's what you had. ...Read more

Stretched nerve to big toe in '92 ankle fracture. About 15 yrs later, bone spur under big toe ball of ft . Top of foot burns now. Did nerve "wake up"?
Arthritis: Actually it could be a number of different things but if it has all of a sudden become red, hot, swollen, and painful it may be gout. If it has been developing over many years then it is likely something called "hallux limitus" or "hallux rigidus" which is basically an arthritic process of the big toe joint that over time causes limitation of motion. I would recommend seeing a podiatrist. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

Are bone spurs at the base of big toe (bottom) related to turf toe? Feel like spur needs soft cushion, but turf toe calls for hard extension. Confused
Turf toe is more of : A sprain of the ligaments around that joint. Spurring around the joint is something that develops gradually over time and reduce the available range of motion of the joint. At some point in time, spurs need to be removed surgically before more damage is done to the interior of the joint. Turf toe is an acute injury that takes time and protection to heal. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

Night Moves..: It might be possible that you managed to traumatize you toe during your sleep. Not necessarily an acute, severely inflicted damage, but a more subtle low intensity type. Have a bunion whrre my big toe is pressing against my second toe. The tip of my second toe is numb. Could that be the cause?
Yes: Bunions and the deformity associated w/ them( hallux valgus) can press on the second toe and cause deformity ( hammertoes, etc.). Pressure on the second toe digital nerve can certainly cause numbness you are experiencing. See your orthopedic surgeon or podiatrist for evaluation. Best of Luck! ...Read more

My big toe is crossing over my second toe. I got told this may be a bunion. I am only 17. I experience no pain from it. Do i need a surgery?
Think it Over.: Your description certainly sounds like a bunion to me. Whether or not you have it removed is entirely up to you. The usual reasons include pain, either with or without shoes. Some times the ability to even buy shoes is a problem. Believe it or not, but, people even have them removed because they don't like the way they look. My advice is to have them removed when you are ready and well informed. ...Read more
Would my overlapping second toe and severe bunions cause me to have knee pain and leg numbness of the same leg? I have no pre existing leg issues.
Pain not related: The only way that your knee pain would be related to your bunion and/or hammertoe, is the fact that they are making you walk differently due them being painful themselves (bunion/hammertoe). Consider them being indirectly related. The numbness is totally a different issue. That could be something originating from your back. Consult a professional. ...Read moreSee 3 more doctor answers
I'm 31 days post op. Bunion removal & pipj fusion of second toe, pin in second toe is a little loose & moves up/down turns sideways. Is this normal?
Not abnormal: It is not unusual for the pin, which is usually a "K-wire" to feel slightly loose. The "K-wire" is usually smooth and not threaded like a screw (though there are threaded K wires). As a result, it can feel loose. I encourage all post operative patients to seek the advice of the surgeon who performed the procedure(s). Your surgeon has the ability to evaluate your foot and the X-rays. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
Will I ever be able to wear high heels again post op for a mild bunion? Even if I push through with physio exercises to prevent toe/joint stiffness?
Intermittent s pain in big toe,red hard lump,no heat, swelling, shoes don't affect it,worse at evening, feels like circulation cut off, bunion or gout?
Could be either: A painful, swollen big toe joint that occurs from time to time is likely to be gout or other type of arthritis. A permanent bump that is more painful after wearing shoes all day is more likely to be a bunion. By your description, bunion is more likely. See an orthopedic foot doctor or podiatrist for an accurate diagnosis and treatment plan. ...Read more
