Painful Lump On Upper Left Abdomen
CT Scan benefit outweigh the risk? I'm 23 with 3 CT scans already. Doctors concerned about chronic upper left abdomen pain radiating to back.

If however, your doctor can provide good reason why CT scan is necessary, then it is probably worth doing. You can always seek a second opinion. ...Read more

Gastroenterologist: I recommend an evaluation by a gastroenterologist. Causes of left upper abdominal discomfort include disorders of spleen, stomach, pancreas, common bile duct or portions of the colon which takes a 90 degree turn there and can cause gas entrapment. Tiny lumps under the skin can be due to several things. If these don't move about under the skin when you push on them, they are probably skin cysts. IF they are deep in the skin and feel squishy, they may be noncancerous fatty growths called lipomas. If they move about under the skin and you think they are growing, then I suggest being seen to make sure that they are not lymph nodes.
