Painful Lump On Rib Cage Symptoms
Today i just found a lump under my left breast on the rib cage. It is very painful and I have another on left back rib which radiates to the front. Are these symptoms of cancer?
Need to see your doc: Only a doctor's examination can clarify what it is. Any lump, if it is new and it is real, means something is wrong. It can be an infection(skin) or it could be something else. ...Read more
Many swollen neck lymphs. itchy eyes. Hard lumps started on collarbone(was painful now isn't), more painless ones formed in 3 months, rib cage, shin, back of neck few on chest. good blood work, blood counts, crp, clean chest x-ray. no other symptoms
Lymph glands: Generalized enlargement of lymph nodes are seen in infectious mononucleosis, malignant blood dyscrasias and other infections. I'm not sure that they would be found on the rib cage itself or on the shin bone. I recommend an evaluation by a hematologist or an infectious disease specialist. A lymph node biopsy as well as other tests may be advised by the specialist. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

So go to your pcp asap. ...Read more
Bone spur: The usual cause of superficial lump is lypoma. Rarely could it be a small bony growth or neuroma. A lypoma is usually painless, freely mobile, and remains stable over time. Bone spur is hard, fixed and tender on palpation. Neuroma may or may not painful but usually fixed. Just monitor for changes in size, superficial ulceration, changes in color and any suspicious changes talk to your PCP. ...Read more
Probably not: It's probably a little lump called a lipoma. That's a harmless collection of fatty tissue that for some unclear reason has decided to glomm together there. I've seen some as big as your fist. But, let a doctor take a look at it and examine it before you write it off as nothing to worry about. ...Read more

Painful left lump on left side of rib cage. It has grown in size. MRI was last test to show something but it was not defined. Been 3 yrs, what is it?
Need more info: If the lump is in the rib itself, did you have trauma in that area? Have you ever had a cancer, especially of a type that tends to spread to bone; and does the MRI suggest a cancer in the bone? That would be my concern, although your description makes me doubt cancer. Review the findings with your clinician. A biopsy, if needed, is one way to answer your question. Hope that helps. ...Read moreSee 2 more doctor answers
