If the lump is soft like fat it's probably a lipoma which is nothing to worry about. If the lump is more superficial it may be a sebaceous cyst. Both are benign and can be treated surgically if need. Neither one has much to do with her alpha-1-antitrypsin deficiency or the lungs.

Lipoma: If you have a lump under the skin it might be a lipoma. This is a fatty mass or tumor. If it is small and mobile then leave alone. If it grows or become painful, not mobile then see your doctor again. This could also be a lymph node. If you had a recent cut near that area it could be from inflammation.
