Painful Lump On Earlobe
Painful lump under earlobe/behind earlobe. Constant pain but not with touch. Have had operations to correct perforation in past. Lump started pea size but is now like grape size only there on left side and doesn't move seems fixed to bone or is 1?
Usually: Lymph glands in that area drain the ear canal! Get it checked out PARTICULARLY IF IT IS "ATTACHED" t bone since this may represent more serious pathology! Hope this helps Dr Z
Clogged pore: Your ear lobe has sebaceous glands like most areas of the skin. This can be clogged and become inflamed as a result. This causes it to become swollen and can be painful.

How long since pierc: You will want to see a DR, preferably a dermatologist. You may need to stop using anything in it. A common cause for this is the use of an ointment which causes an allergic or irritant reaction. AVOID bacitracin, neomycin, triple antibiotic, peroxide, tea tree oil as these are common causes for what you describe. Water (shower) is good for this.See 1 more doctor answer
I have a small, lump that is IN my earlobe. Painless until messed with, then it was painful with a bit of swelling. Pain went away after a while?
Most likely: An epidermoid cyst that gets intermittently inflamed. Show it to your doctor, because it can get infected eventually.
Have a hard lump the size of a small marble in my earlobe. Painful if you squeeze it n doesn't move. What could it possible be n should I tell my gp?
Epidermoid cyst?: If you have pierced ears and the area of the painful lump is close by, you could have epidermoid cyst. This is caused by implantation of epidermis (skin cells) into the dermis (below the skin level) during ear piercing. They can also be caused by a blocked pore adjacent to the piercing. Cysts can be removed by surgical excision if it is causing significant discomfort.

Infected Cyst: This is likely an infected inclusion cyst in your earlobe. It needs to be drained. Therefore you need to be seen by a physician to be treated. Do not try to pop it on your own.

Ruptured cyst: Most likely it is an epidermal cyst that has ruptured. The swelling and tenderness is the resulting inflammatory reaction, which is often mistaken for an infection. But like an infection, it needs to be drained to relieve the pressure and stop the pain. Epidermal cysts occur very commonly in earlobes; no one knows why.
I have a golf ball sized, hard, fixed, non painful lump in my neck underneath my earlobe. It does not protrude but can be felt when u touch my neck.
That's not good: The normal hard lumps in the neck are bones, which are symmetrical (left side is the same as right side). Any other newly-found hard lump should be evaluated as soon as the doctor is available (within a few days to a week). At the bottom of the earlobe is the mastoid bone. If one side (either left or right) is much bigger than the other side, that is not normal and needs evaluation.
I have a small ear lump on my earlobe in the front. My right ear feels fat and its very painful, escpecially if I put my hand on it. Is this serious?
Perinidal Abscess: I small lump in front of the ear may represent a perinidal sinus. It is possible for these to become infected and swollen. These sometimes need to be drained and be treated with antibiotics. All the best and be evaluated soon.

I have a small, painful lump behind both ear lobes. They don't hurt outright, but they hurt to touch. Is this serious?
Hard to say: These could be lymph nodes or cysts or infected/clogged follicles or even something else. Since it's bilateral - as in on both sides - lymph nodes are more likely the culprit. To be sure you should seek an in person evaluation. Hope this helps.
