However, if the lump is getting bigger or is not going away, best to see a podiatrist or a surgeon , get an ultrasound and/or an MRI to find exactly what it is. ...Read more

Mom had a (painful) lump on her leg & now a lump on her arm. Urgent care says varicose veins (in 2 sites?) should she get 2nd opinion? Possibilities?

Mom had a (painful) lump on her leg & now a lump on her arm. Urgent care says varicose veins (in 2 sites?) should she get 2nd opinion? Possibilities?

Varicose veins: This should be very easy to sort out with a physical exam & a vein ultrasound. Hi, I have itchy lumps on my arm, leg and feet. They are about a small cherry. What do you think it is?

Lumps: These may be scattered hives caused by an allergy of some sort. Insect bites are possibilities although these lesions are usually smaller. Try to think of any precipitating factors like certain foods, medications, etc. Antihistamines like benadryl(causes drowsiness) or claritin(nondrowsy) give relief. If symptoms persist see your physician or an allergist for evaluation and treatment. ...Read more

TimetoTakeYourLumps: Best to get it looked-at. An infection under the skin(an abscess,"boil") can be taken care of. And if it's some other kind of lump,it should be examined and a decision made as to what to do about it.The other problems are probably unrelated but can be figured-out at the same visit. Also, remember, if that lump is an infection, the longer you wait, the bigger it'll get and more painful the cure ...Read more
