Lymph nodes: These lumps are likely to be lymph nodes, but can also be skin cysts. Depends on how long you had them, they can be secondary to a virus, or skin irritation after shaving. If the problem continues, see your doctor for advice. ...Read more

May need strep test: Sore throat and tonsillitis symptoms usually are evaluated by a rapid strep test in addition to an exam. If there are strep germs, antibiotics such as Amoxil or Zithromax are needed. Sometimes tonsils get whitish mucousy stuff on them. A patient can call around town to see if there is a new PCP who can fit her in within 48 hours. Going online to her insurance's website can bring up a PCP list. ...Read more
