A few things: Can be an abscess from a tooth, a swollen lymph node, enlarged salivary gland, thyroid mass, cyst, tumor, etc. Whatever it is, not normal. See ENT doc ASAP. ...Read more

May need strep test: Sore throat and tonsillitis symptoms usually are evaluated by a rapid strep test in addition to an exam. If there are strep germs, antibiotics such as Amoxil or Zithromax are needed. Sometimes tonsils get whitish mucousy stuff on them. A patient can call around town to see if there is a new PCP who can fit her in within 48 hours. Going online to her insurance's website can bring up a PCP list. ...Read more

Needs work-up: Many conditions can cause the feeling of a lump in the breast, but certainly you should see your doctor and have this examined. You may need a mammogram and further work-up, especially if there is a family history of breast ca, even though you are young. Some "lumpiness" may occur with your period and then resolve.
