Painful Lipoma In Abdomen
I have multiple, painful lipomas on my abdomen. It hurts even to lay down but not all the time. It hurts on and off during the day.
Lipomas that cause symptoms can be removed by a general surgeon. The method of removal is usually bedside but it depends on the size of the lipoma. Sometimes when the lipoma works its way into the muscle or connective tissue planes in your body, they need more invasive surgery rather than a simple bedside procedure. But it is still, generally a low risk surgery. Hope this helps ...Read more

Why is left upper abdominal lipoma so painful. Hurts when moving, pressing, coughing twisting. Sound like cancer? Surgery on 29th. Had for yrs but nvr hrt
Painful lipoma: Some lipomas have sensation associated with them. Others develop over time. Cancer is #37 in our differential, so...really no. As this is a recent development, a visit to your dermatologist for evaluation and a possible ultrasound would be warranted. These are very easy to remove through a small excision in an outpatient setting. Ask about removal. ...Read more
Left upper quad abdominal lump. Ultrasound diagnosed lipoma twice. No growth within year. Very painful when coughing or pressure applied. Cancer?
Be seen: A lipoma is a benign growth of fatty tissue and usually does not cause pain, nor is it usually tender. An ultrasound is not a sensative enough test to distinguish between a lipoma and other growths. So if you are having symptoms of pain, I would definitely get some further testing or even consider an excisional biopsy. ...Read more

What do you advise if I'm having a multiple lipoma in the body, I'm having a pain in the left abdomen what can I do?
Lipoma: A Lipoma is a benign growth of fat cells. I do not understand the worry behind your numerous questions about this today. It is a benign growth, usually in the skin. That means it is not in any way associated with the uterus. If your lipoma is causing you pain you can easily have it removed surgically. But I do not see why you are so worried about this. Perhaps you should discuss with your OB. ...Read more

Lipoma on back, swelling around that w/pain that wraps around side into abdomen on left side any ideas?
Back swelling: Lipomas are benign fatty tissue (sometimes referred to as tumors) that is movable within the fatty layer area. Sometimes these lipomas may envelope a nerve near the area and can compress it if pressed upon or swelling is noted. This compression of the nerve causes the radiating pain you may be describing. However boils or cysts may do the same, you may need that checked out by your doctor. ...Read more

Severe abdomen pain. Dx with bi-lateral hernia's, but then was told they are only "fatty lipoma hernia's" What are they? Are they serious?
That is a bit strang:
Hernias are common and by definition, it means that part of your abdominal viscera (contents like intestine) is slipping out, through the abdominal wall.
Fatty lipomas does not make much sense to me. If you have a hernia it will pop out when you try to cough. Lie down in bed and check it out.
I would advise you to seek a second opinion from a good surgeon before trusting the first one's diagnosis. ...Read more
