Painful Lipoma In Abdomen
I have a couple of hard, nodular lumps in upper abdomen 3 years painful if pressed pain is sharp and goes through to back. Is it a lipoma?
Need 2 Be Seen: Lipomas are the most common cause of lumps under the skin (in the subq space), however they rarely cause shooting pain on palpation as you describe. I suggest that you make an appointment with your primary care doctor to help sort this out.
By removing: If you have multiple on body surface irritating or slight pain they are most likely neurofibromas show to your doctor once removed pain will go away.See 1 more doctor answer
Why is left upper abdominal lipoma so painful. Hurts when moving, pressing, coughing twisting. Sound like cancer? Surgery on 29th. Had for yrs but nvr hrt
Painful lipoma: Some lipomas have sensation associated with them. Others develop over time. Cancer is #37 in our differential, so...really no. As this is a recent development, a visit to your dermatologist for evaluation and a possible ultrasound would be warranted. These are very easy to remove through a small excision in an outpatient setting. Ask about removal.
Left upper quad abdominal lump. Ultrasound diagnosed lipoma twice. No growth within year. Very painful when coughing or pressure applied. Cancer?
Be seen: A lipoma is a benign growth of fatty tissue and usually does not cause pain, nor is it usually tender. An ultrasound is not a sensative enough test to distinguish between a lipoma and other growths. So if you are having symptoms of pain, I would definitely get some further testing or even consider an excisional biopsy.See 1 more doctor answer
What do you advise if I'm having a multiple lipoma in the body, I'm having a pain in the left abdomen what can I do?
Lipoma: A Lipoma is a benign growth of fat cells. I do not understand the worry behind your numerous questions about this today. It is a benign growth, usually in the skin. That means it is not in any way associated with the uterus. If your lipoma is causing you pain you can easily have it removed surgically. But I do not see why you are so worried about this. Perhaps you should discuss with your OB.
No.: A lipoma is a fatty tumor that is usually encapsulated and certainly will not harm the baby. Normally one would watch a lipoma and only have it removed if it caused pain or one elected to have elective surgery for cosmetic reasons. Good luck and congratulations with your baby.
Can you suddenly develop multiple lipomas on your abdomen and can they possibly interfere w/digestion? Dx w/ ab wall lipomas recently.
Common site for lipo: Lipomas are fatty benign tumors located under the skin. They are usually multiple and frequently found on the abdomen. They were probably there before they were noticed and can grow up to a few inches in length. People have them removed to make the diagnosis of the lipoma or because they become painful or unsightly
Lipoma on back, swelling around that w/pain that wraps around side into abdomen on left side any ideas?
Back swelling: Lipomas are benign fatty tissue (sometimes referred to as tumors) that is movable within the fatty layer area. Sometimes these lipomas may envelope a nerve near the area and can compress it if pressed upon or swelling is noted. This compression of the nerve causes the radiating pain you may be describing. However boils or cysts may do the same, you may need that checked out by your doctor.See 1 more doctor answer
Can a lipoma in your back cause pain that also feels like a fullness in your abdomen on the left under rib cage
Can you irritate your abdomen by constantly touching and searching for more lipomas? Akways touching and looking for lumps even in pelvic region
No: Not specifically, but why are you fixated on probing yourself for benign cosmetic things like lipomas? Lipomas are of no major consequence ; generally observed. Lipomas can be heredatry and can be multiple in some people ; do not turn into anything bad in the future.
Severe abdomen pain. Dx with bi-lateral hernia's, but then was told they are only "fatty lipoma hernia's" What are they? Are they serious?
That is a bit strang:
Hernias are common and by definition, it means that part of your abdominal viscera (contents like intestine) is slipping out, through the abdominal wall.
Fatty lipomas does not make much sense to me. If you have a hernia it will pop out when you try to cough. Lie down in bed and check it out.
I would advise you to seek a second opinion from a good surgeon before trusting the first one's diagnosis.
Shooting pain in lower left abdomen/back. Lipoma in left lower back corresponds to abdomen pain area. Is lipoma cause of my abdomen pain, too?
I have back, side, and abdomen pain believed to be from a possible lipoma on the rib we did an intercostal injection of steroid if 0 change then what?
I have what feels like a fatty lump that moves easily under my skin on the right side of my abdomen (just under rib cage). Lipoma? Fat deposit?
Surely: Surely you know we can't answer your question without an examination. What you describe as a fatty lump may be something else entirely. Please see your GP for a definitive answer.See 2 more doctor answers
Should I get a second opinion or learn to live with this pain? I had an egg sized lipoma removed from my right abdomen on the belt line just a few inches outward of my belly button in june. The pain did not get better and the surgeon removed a 2 x 2 x 5
See your surgeon: The surgeon will know the anatomy and procedure done. Sounds a bit unusual, and if you are not satisfied, then seek a second opinion and take your data from hospital and office with you/. Or send in advance.See 1 more doctor answer
Can 3 hard pea sized lumps under the skin in abdomen just be lipomas? Doctor wasn't worried, does it need to be biopsy?
Possibly: Lipomas can be any size from very small to very large. Without an exam I cannot answer if your lumps need biopsied. Lipomas are benign and do not have to be removed unless they get larger or cause pain...or you just want them out.See 1 more doctor answer
