I accidentally kicked a chair, which was very painful. However, I noticed my calf muscle is extremely pained as a result. Any correlation?

Physics lesson: Newton's third law of motion states that for every action there is an equal and opposite reaction. Interacting objects experience two forces: action and reaction. The direction of the force on the object is opposite to the direction of the force of the second object. So you kick chair. The force of the leg on chair is equal to the force of chair pushing back. Why calf hurts.

Muscle (Definition)

It is a body tissue that has the ability to contract. It shortens and generates force. It relaxes and returns to its original length. Muscles move joints, stabilize the body, move air and food through the organs, act as valves for bladder, bowel and other organs. They control movement of the eyes. They help us express ourselves by changing the shape of our ...Read more

What causes a painful muscle spasm in the calf muscle?

What causes a painful muscle spasm in the calf muscle?

A charlie horse.....: Large muscles use a lot of energy to do work, and this is supplied by blood. If the supply is not adequate their can be painful spasm; and if metabolites from heavy activity are not removed there can be spasm. Other causes can be a trapped nerve root irritating the muscle. Some people have greater likelihood of spasm due to underlying genetic causes.

Either that: Or a varicose vein. Doesn't sound serious in either case. But show it to your doctor just to make sure.

7 WKS POST CALF MUSCLE TEAR. YET, I STILL HAVE SAME HARD KNOT THAT APPEARED ON DAY ONE. 3X7cm. LOOKS & FEELS AS IF I HAVE MUSCLE FLEXED 100% OF TIME?

7 WKS POST CALF MUSCLE TEAR. YET, I STILL HAVE SAME HARD KNOT THAT APPEARED ON DAY ONE. 3X7cm. LOOKS & FEELS AS IF I HAVE MUSCLE FLEXED 100% OF TIME?

Mis-diagnosis: Your muscle tear is really a fascia tear, and as a result you have a knot in the muscle that is causing pain. The best response will come from treating the trigger point with needling and myofascial release and restoring the fascia injury with platelet rich plasma. www. Blatmanhealthandwellness. Com

I broke my leg this summer and my muscle was bruised. Now I have a few knots in my calf muscle, what could I do to get the knots out?

Varies: It varies somewhat based upon the cause of the knots themselves, but it would not be unusual to have some degree of scar tissue associated with such an injury. Moist heat can increase blood flow to the area, gentle stretching and exercises can help as can various modalities used in physical therapy. Thank you for the question.

I have a tender painful spot in my left calf muscle, but there is no bruise, it hurts when I press on it?

I have a tender painful spot in my left calf muscle, but there is no bruise, it hurts when I press on it?

Vein?: Could be a superficial vein that has clotted for some reason. Try warm compresses. If enlarges, you have leg swelling, pain increases, or you have any skin changes, see you doctor for an exam without delay. Hope this helps!

I was sleeping and I guess I stretched my legs and my right calf muscle clenched. It was painful. It happened twice this wknd.?

Spasm: Sounds like you already have some serious medical issues. Your muscles probably slashed. Drink your water and your orange juice to keep the potassium up. See doctor if happens again

My calf muscle and foot are tingly and painful. It becomes worse if my foot touches a cold floor or water and slightly better with a sock on?

My calf muscle and foot are tingly and painful. It becomes worse if my foot touches a cold floor or water and slightly better with a sock on?

Think neuropathy: See your doctor if there is a medical cause for your symptoms. If there is swelling and discoloration, that might be due to circulation. When you have neuropathy, you can have parasthesias (tingling, pain) and hyperesthesia (increased sensitivity to a cold floor).

Next office visit: Lipomas are usually soft, but what you are describing sounds benign, maybe dermatofibromas. Show your physician at your next office visit or earlier if they start growing.

What r symps of pulled calf muscle? Can it cause painful twitches? Normal? Other symp bump along lateral side of lower leg when I stand, like hernia

Strain: A strained muscle causes soreness and pain on use and takes a week or so to heal. Occasionally bumps in the lateral calf area are due to small herniations of fat tissue through the muscle. Varicose veins are another possibility. A physician would have to examine you to be sure. Muscle twitches are not commonly due to sprains and can occur spontaneously. Muscle cramps are commonly due to tight musc

I have soreness and knot in my calf muscle, also has moved to my foot and ankle also have a tingling feeling in my foot, is this related with pulled m?

I have soreness and knot in my calf muscle, also has moved to my foot and ankle also have a tingling feeling in my foot, is this related with pulled m?

Maybe: This sounds like some sort of nerve impingement (pinched nerve.) this may have been caused by a calf injury. I think you need to see your doctor quickly to get an early jump on this. They will also rule out the possiblity of a blood clot to your calf.

How can I tell if my calf muscle is torn?

How can I tell if my calf muscle is torn?

See your doctor: Problems like these can only be correctly handled by your doctor in person. He/she needs to listen to you, perform an examination and possibly run labs or other tests. That's the only way he/she can find out what's going on and what to do about it.
