Painful Injection In Buttocks
2 buttock injections/B-12/Fentanyl, severely bruised/hematoma/left with 2 painful lumps, cant walk, pain shoots down leg/1 yr already?
Sciatic n. Injury: Difficulty walking & severe sciatica for one year & post-injection of medicine into ipsilateral buttock suggests mass-effect/permanent type of injury to sciatic nerve. See a Neurologist for confirmation. Knowledge of a medical misadventure does not begin until the sufferer learns, from an expert, that it has occurred. A most unfortunate circumstance if this is indeed what occurred. Iatrogenic?
Not useful: Very hard to remove things after you inject them.
Plenty of muscle: Not a very sensitive area and usually nothing vital to poke a needle with.
Yes: The im injections in the buttocks often cause discomfort. Definitely alternate the injection side each day. Also ask your fertility nurse to draw a larger target to spread the injections around a wider area. Walking often helps mobilize the oil. Fortunately, you will not need to take the injections forever.
Difficult problem: But start with inquiry to local medical association for referral.
Just had lower back facet injections done a week ago but now the center of buttocks hurts really bad. Is it related?
May be: Ensure that the injection sites are clean, dry with no signs of infection. If the pain continues speak to your doctor.
In India inject in: Almost anything. I had a friend, travel to india, had a sore butt, was referred to someone and the next thing he knew, this guy (who knows what credentials) was sucking some kind of pus or serum out of his butt through a bamboo straw. He felt better. Scary stuff. All bets are off in other countries. Then again, we spend more than twice the amount of any country and r one of the unhappiest of them.
Will an intramuscular injection cause sciatica if it is given in the wrong location on the buttocks?
Its possible: If the injection was not given on the upper outside area of the buttock. Occasionally though the injection site can irritate the muscle around the sciatic nerve and cause pain. If it does not resolve, I would consider getting an evaluation for this.See 2 more doctor answers
I had 1 set of buttocks non medical silicone injections 3 years ago. I am wondering what I should be expecting as in health risks.?
Silicone Injection: I do not personally perform silicone injections, mostly because this is something that is extremely difficult to reverse without leaving a significant scar. I have seen many problems with these injections in the buttocks, particularly granulomas and infections. These can be lifelong problems. If you notice redness, warmth or drainage from your buttocks, see your injector or go to the er.See 2 more doctor answers
Isn´t it strange to still have hematomas (+very mild pain if pressed) in the injection sites (both buttocks) after 9 months since last B12 injection?
Yes: Pain from intramuscular injections do not usually last that long.
I started receiving iron injections in my buttocks 2 months ago. 1 a month. I now have 2 bruises on both sides that aren't doing away. Are these perm?
No: Bruising can be from bleeding from the injections you are receiving or from a new trauma. If the bleeding was in the deep tissues like muscles, the stagnant blood can take some time to seep under the skin and thus seen as a bruise. The spreading of blood this way helps it to dissolve. It might take some time to do so. Repeated bruising would require a work up by your doctor.
Ed visit 5 days ago rsd flare. Received im injections in buttocks. Pain radiating from injection site into lower back and down thighs. Why?
See below: You don't say where your crps symptoms are. I think it would be best if your saw your pain specialist for an evaluation.

Got a lump in my buttocks due to injection for pain caused by kidney stones. Its been more than 3-4 weeks since this injection. Lump also has pain.
This might be: Deep infection, hematoma, granuloma, scar, or less likely tumor. Show it to a surgeon who can give you a better idea.
Small: Not that these cannot occur, but considering the number of these types of injections that are done, they are rare - especially done " by the books" or with the proper technique which is by giving it in the upper outer quadrant of the buttocks, away from the sciatic notch where the nerve is..See 1 more doctor answer
