Depends pain level: Advice against surgery good provided same side testis is either palpable or scrotal ultrasound & normal. Needs 2B seen by Dr. for an episode if pain severe to rule out testis torsion. Intermittent torsion is associated with severe pain, relieved when it untwists & should be fixed surgically. Have hydrocele. Urologist said to leave alone bc not painful. Gets bigger and smaller. Had ultrasound. Its fine. What can I do besides surgery?

Hydrocele: may expand and contract on its own. Wearing supportive underwear may help. You can have the hydrocele drained but this is usually only a temporary solution. Surgery is the only permanent solution but it doesn't sound like you need that at this point. ...Read more
