Possibly dyshydrotic: eczema. Search for a picture of it on www. Mayoclinic. Com or www. Johnshopkins. Com. If it matches get a scrip from your doc for a potent topical steroid and a silk medication glove.

Possibly infection: Swollen? Warm? Discharge? Red streaking? May need to have it medically checked. Take care.

Dyshydrosis: This sounds like dyshydrotic eczema. It can be treated with a high potency steroid cream or ointment. It can also be treated with topical lanolin cream. Be sure to keep your hands thoroughly dry after getting them wet.

Heberden's nodes: Heberden's nodes: a condition which is characterized by small hard nodules usually in the interphalangeal joints. Usually from osteoarthritis.

Would need to see: It, possibly biopsy or get MRI. There are many nodules that can form including fatty tumors, neuromas, cysts... see dermatologist or hand specialist for answers.

Be seen: Please see your doctor as the area may be minimally infected with the swelling--is there any redness or warmth there too? Your doctor can evaluate this very easily. Do not take chances.

Skin bump: Most likely this is either a small lipoma or a hair shaft cyst. At your age these only need to be removed if they enlarge become painful or otherwise symptomatic

Hand surgeon: A hand surgeon is best qualified to evaluate, advise and treat you if surgery is advisable. Such a lump has to be examined in order for a diagnosis to be made. Your personal physician could do this and, if deemed advisable, could refer you to a hand surgeon.

Possible pomphylox: Small blisters that form along the edges of the fingers or palm (or on the feet) that start as burning bumps, then heal by either rupturing or hardening off are also called dyshidrosis. They are self limited but recur with stress and with irritation of the skin on the hands or feet. Steroid cream may help them heal faster.
