Pain: There are just two organs there unless you have a transposition or your organs are out of place. That would be the spleen and your intestines. It is possible you could feel gallbladder pain there. Please go get evaluated.
Been having pain in mid/upper left rib cage for a few months. Comes/goes, sometimes worse after eating. Sensitive if I press the area or stretch?
More info: Left upper quadrant pain can be from a number of things. Gastritis? ulcers? pancreatitis? gallbladder? Etc. Have you had any imaging done? Might be a good idea to get and Ultrasound of your gallbladder and keep a detailed history of what causes your pain to occur. Other possibilities include muscle strain, bone or cartilage inflammation. Even your heart. Best to get into see your MD

Rib cage: Sharp posterior rib cage pain can be due to rib injury, pinched nerve between two ribs, pleurisy or lung inflammation especially if worsened by deep breath and cough. Pneumothorax or pulmonary embolism are accompanied by shortness of breath. See your physician if symptoms persist and appropriate tests and xrays will be ordered.

Need to see Doc: We consider all the organs in that part of body, which is stomach, so you have to consider gastritis, peptic ulcer disease etc. Other organ is lung, so that pneumonia, pleurisy may be a problem if accompanied with fever, chills, sweats, cough and discolored sputum. It could be muscles, rib, cartilage. Hence, to find the proper cause, further work by doc is indicated.

Some possibilities..: Under the right rib cage are the liver, gall bladder, first part of the small intestine, the muscles between ribs, the diaphragm, etc... On the left side are the stomach, spleen, diaphragm (muscle for breathing), a part of the colon (large intestine), the tail end of the pancreas, etc... A doctor can evaluate to look for gallstones, acid reflux, pancreatitis, and other possible causes.
Need to get examined: If you are having this after eating oily or fatty dressings, it could be gall bladder symptoms. See a doctor to be checked.
