Iliotibial band: Could be inflammation of distal iliotibial band, could be knee arthritis or meniscal tear.
I would start with NSAID treatment, barring no contraindications (ulcer, kidney disease).
I would at least obtain an X ray of the knee and trial of physical therapy.
You can seek interventional pain medicine, and seek injections.
If symptoms don't resolve, then you should get an MRI.

Patellar pressure: I agree with dr hadied, but since you feel this when you kneel this suggests pre-patellar bursitis. This is the bursa on top of the kneecap. Sometimes this bursa can swell and even get infected. Burning is a little unusal symptom, usually it is pain. Burning could be due to an effect on the nerves around the knee. Patellofemoral syndr: The kneeling problem most likely reflects a loss of cartilage under the knee cap and the pressure drives this into a groove in the femur which causes the pain. Arthritis. Visit the: Orthopedist to find out. Some possibilities include patellar tendonitis or a tear in this tendon. You may have fractured the patella itself.
