Swollen lymph node?: It may be a swollen lymph node due to a viral infection. It sounds like you are improving somewhat? Please see your physician if the pain and other symptoms persist or worsen. Most viral gastroenteritis lasts no more than 2 weeks. Keep up the good work resting and drinking fluids.

Possible infection: It is possible this represents infection in hand or a skin reaction & contact dermatitis affecting the hand, possibly an insect bite. The jaw pain may represent an inflammed and activated Lymph node. Would see UR primary care doctor, otherwise could become serious if not treated appropriately.

My husband woke up with swelling and pain on left side of neck below jaw, e.R. Dr mentioned lymphoma. Abt not helping, what are other possibilities?

Salivary gland: The pain makes it less likely to be lymphoma. Most lymphomas cause rubbery, enlarged and painless lymph nodes. The fact that this occurred suddenly makes me wonder if he has an obstructed salivary gland which can be very painful and cause swelling in the area you describe, and antibiotics don't help. An infection in the head, mouth or face can cause a swollen lymph node in the same area.

What can cause lymph node swelling on left side of neck and jaw line? No other symptoms other than some mild weakness. Is this concerning?

What can cause lymph node swelling on left side of neck and jaw line? No other symptoms other than some mild weakness. Is this concerning?

Many possible causes: There are many possible causes for a lump at that location, so I would recommend a thorough evaluation by your physician. Possible causes include swollen lymph nodes, benign skin cysts, salivary gland swelling, congenital cysts, or rare tumors. Factors such as location, size, and duration make some of these more or less likely. Lymph node swelling is very common in response to local infection.

Hard lump under jaw left side of neck. Been for scans. Biopsy and lymph node removed 3 weeks ago. Lump still there and more painful, what could it be?

Wait for report: Wait for biopsy report, if it is benign, it is post operative reaction and will subside in couple of wks, speak to your surgeon if any treatment (s) are required based on the report.

Feels like two permanently swollen lymph nodes, just on left side of neck. One under jaw, other lower down neck. No pain, but always there. Reasons?

Feels like two permanently swollen lymph nodes, just on left side of neck. One under jaw, other lower down neck. No pain, but always there. Reasons?

Cervical Lymph Nodes: Enlargement of the lymph nodes in the anterior chain of the neck can be a sign of active infection or occult disease. Non tender but enlarged lump nodes in the neck may be reacting to infections drainage from the head and neck including mononucleosis, &HIV disease. Lymphomas may present with non tender lymph node enlargement. Consider a head and neck exam and maybe antibiotics and needle biopsy.

I have this red patch on the left side of neck 2 inches under jaw line. Does not itch, hurt or burn. Weather has been humid. Could it be heat rash?

I have this red patch on the left side of neck 2 inches under jaw line. Does not itch, hurt or burn. Weather has been humid. Could it be heat rash?

Rash: Usually, heat rash looks like little bumps or pimples. This could be a fungal infection - usually a red blotch that is scaly. Or it could be impetigo, a patch that often has a honey colored crust. Fungal skin infections are treated with topical antifungal creams like clotrimazole. Impetigo, a staph skin infection is treated with antibiotics.

Lump on left side of neck just under jaw line, can only be felt when I tense muscles and when I lie on my side it sits on jaw tender to touch. Cancer?

Lump on left side of neck just under jaw line, can only be felt when I tense muscles and when I lie on my side it sits on jaw tender to touch. Cancer?

Unlikely: This "lump" sounds like it could be a lymph node. Lymph nodes can enlarge and often feel tender if you have an infection. Most times they go away on their own as your body fights the infection. As a general rule, lymph nodes due to cancer are not tender. If the lymph node enlarges or if they increase in number, please visit your physician for an examination.

Have numbness in feet, right side of body and head, pain in left side of neck and jaw, heart feels weak, what could this be?

Have numbness in feet, right side of body and head, pain in left side of neck and jaw, heart feels weak, what could this be?

Check for diabetes: Numbness has many causes. It could be compression, metabolic or physical. Whatever the case, the nerve is being injured and need to find the cause. How do you know your heart is weak? Was it confirmed by the doctor? What symptoms did you experience to come to that conclusion?

Bumps on middle of forehead. Painful and itchy. Started as 5 or 6 small bumps and are now 2 big ones. Swollen lymph nodes on left side of neck/jaw.

Infection, shingles?: This sounds like a skin infection of some sort. It could be a bacterial infection (e.g. staph, strep, etc) but I'm more suspicious of herpes zoster (shingles). See a doctor ASAP. If bacterial, you'll need an antibiotic. If shingles, an antiviral drug (e.g. valacyclovir) needs to be started very soon to have maximum benefit.

A lump on under my jaw, my ear feels like I have a ear infection but I don't all on my left side of neck, hurts but I don't have strep I got tested?

A lump on under my jaw, my ear feels like I have a ear infection but I don't all on my left side of neck, hurts but I don't have strep I got tested?

Infection: You still have an infection...And it could be viral or bacterial. A negative strep is nice but sometimes it cannot be found on the tonsils if it is in the lymph node itself. Your ear hurts because the pain is referred up the eustachian tube to your ear fro your throat. Homeopathic pulsatilla may help as may gargling with salt water. Your doctor may also prescribe antibiotics if it is persistent.

I went to sleep the other night and woke up like two hours later w/pain on left side of neck. My head feels heavy today and pain is less. Any ideas?

Hard to say: Your symptoms may just be due to an acute episode where your sleep position induced the pain temporarily. If this becomes persistent or gets worse, I would see your dr. Before it becomes a chronic issue.
