Allergies Sev Meds: What type of reaction did you have with Ultram "all" NSAIDS, Vicodin, & Percocet? Many people confuse true allergies to meds with standard side effects -such as nausea. The type of pain makes the difference with treatment options. You're young so you must think about long term effects on your liver & kidney. Gabapentin. I would avoid steroi: ...Ds. Long term steroid use @ ur age can b devastating ; 2 b avoided. The NSAID specific 4 as is indocin (indomethacin). If not on this, ask ur treating md if it is ok 2 try it. Has a lot of side effects especially GI but not as bad as steroids. If u r able 2 tolerate it, it works the best of all. In fact it's also a good diagnostic tool since the response is rapid. Good luck! ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

Severe allergy to sulfa drugs as child. Have taken Imitrex and hctz for years off and on w no prob. Would I be ok taking celebrex (celecoxib)?
Probably: Although the sulfur molecule is in Celebrex (celecoxib), (celecoxib) only a few people with allergies to sulfa antibiotics also react to Celebrex (celecoxib). The allergy appears to be related to a special form of sulfur at the molecular level. This form isn't present in non-antibacterial meds with sulfur in them. But talk to your doc about it & tell him your concerns. See http://tinyurl.com/ohak2hx and http://tinyurl.com/kzu9o6f ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
