Will a one time IM injection of toradol stop costochondritis...or will pain return when toradol wear off?
IM Toradol benefits: Hopefully all you will need is 1 IM dose of Toradol (30mg vs 60mg) to keep costochondritis symptoms at bay. Find that Toradol works well for symptoms which are "caught early". Hopefully that was your case. If it does wear off say after 2-3 weeks of >50% relief of symptoms, then you may benefit from short term oral NSAID (as long as your kidney function is good). I have chronic low back pain went to ER and was given an injection of toradol which only helped for two days why?
Potent: Anti-inflammatory injection typically gives relief for a day or two. If inflammation was reduced then likely you don't need further evaluation. Since your pain returned it suggests that either the inflammation was a lot or you created more inflammation since there is an injury that needs to be defined. See a pain/spine specialist to evaluate this further. ...Read moreSee 2 more doctor answers
