Will a one time IM injection of toradol stop costochondritis...or will pain return when toradol wear off?

Will a one time IM injection of toradol stop costochondritis...or will pain return when toradol wear off?

IM Toradol benefits: Hopefully all you will need is 1 IM dose of Toradol (30mg vs 60mg) to keep costochondritis symptoms at bay. Find that Toradol works well for symptoms which are "caught early". Hopefully that was your case. If it does wear off say after 2-3 weeks of >50% relief of symptoms, then you may benefit from short term oral NSAID (as long as your kidney function is good). Tricky area for topical meds. ...Read more

I had a toradol injection for a migraine 2 hours ago and it is barely touching the pain. Is more relief coming or is this as good as it gets?

I had a toradol injection for a migraine 2 hours ago and it is barely touching the pain. Is more relief coming or is this as good as it gets?

May or may not be: Toradol injection would have its full effect in 2 to 3 hours and last about 6 hours. Since your pain has not decreased all that much, you should prepare for your next move as advised by your doctor. if you are nauseated or start vomiting, you may have to go to ER for taking more effective medication like Imitrex (sumatriptan) or a similar triptan. Triptans are musch more effective treatment for migraine than an ...Read more

Was given a Toradol injection today. WOW no more headache, crying, and confused thinking. When does it wear off?

Shortly: These injections can last a few hours to a few days. So if you are still benefitting it would be a great idea to see a Neurologist to have a thorough evaluation. Also they may be able to find an excellent regimen for you as well. Ideally their workup will yield a reversible cause. Keep me posred. ...Read more

Does the toradol injection have a lot of side effects? I have severe muscular pain that begins at my shoulder and goes down the side of my back

Depends: Toradol injections either IV or intramuscular can be helpful for pain most likely musculoskeletal abnormalities. It is still a potent anti-inflammatory and needs to be used carefully in patients with kidney, gastrointestinal, or cardiovascular abnormalities. You mentioned specific areas and Toradol should not be injected into a joint for example. Good luck ...Read more

I have chronic low back pain went to ER and was given an injection of toradol which only helped for two days why?

I have chronic low back pain went to ER and was given an injection of toradol which only helped for two days why?

Potent: Anti-inflammatory injection typically gives relief for a day or two. If inflammation was reduced then likely you don't need further evaluation. Since your pain returned it suggests that either the inflammation was a lot or you created more inflammation since there is an injury that needs to be defined. See a pain/spine specialist to evaluate this further. ...Read more

I have had knee pain for 6 months, gave me an injection with anesthetics and then added 30 mg of toradol and 40 mg of Depo-Medrol, are these standard?

Yes, it is standard: Each medical provider has their own injection they like to perform, but the combination of a numbing medicine, toradol (anti-inflammatory) and depo-medrol (steroid) is a very common injection.
