I suddenly started to feel a dull throbbing pain around my upper left rib cage area. its really painful when i move my arms or change positions in bed?
Trauma?: Were you injured? Have you been lifting heavy objects or doing strenuous work? Your symptoms suggest a muscle strain or pull. Possibly even a bruised or broken rib, if you were injured. More info: Left upper quadrant pain can be from a number of things. Gastritis? ulcers? pancreatitis? gallbladder? etc.. have you had any imaging done ? Might be a good idea to get and Ultrasound of your gallbladder and keep a detailed history of what causes your pain to occur.
