Trauma?: Were you injured? Have you been lifting heavy objects or doing strenuous work? Your symptoms suggest a muscle strain or pull. Possibly even a bruised or broken rib, if you were injured. Been having pain in mid/upper left rib cage for a few months. comes/goes, sometimes worse after eating. sensitive if I press the area or stretch?

More info: Left upper quadrant pain can be from a number of things. Gastritis? ulcers? pancreatitis? gallbladder? etc.. have you had any imaging done ? Might be a good idea to get and Ultrasound of your gallbladder and keep a detailed history of what causes your pain to occur. There : There can be a "floating rib", in some patients, in which the bottom rib is more mobile. If you are pushing on the rib then this is possible. There are intestines in that area also that can feel mobile.
