Blood flow?: Make sure you don't eat right before exercising. After you eat, blood flow is directed to your gut for digestion. When you exercise, blood flow is diverted to your muscles, and could cause stomach cramps if you've recently eaten, and sometimes just with over-exertion. What preceded pain?: Did you strain to defecate? Was there blood on the toilet paper? Assuming no other trauma at your age the most common cause is a hard stool tearing the rectum. It should heal on its own in a few days. If this is the cause increase the fiber in your diet and increase your fluid intake. While the pain does not seem to fit that classically, you may have a bleed somewhere else. Any peptobismol use?-also causes black stool.
