Why would I have left-sided mid&upper back pain after an EGD & colonoscopy? Hurts more when eating and swallowing. Biopsies were taken.

Having hot irritating skin above the chest, slightly above the belly, and on upper back after eating shrimp. Noticed soon after eating. Been 10 hours.

Allergic rash: The most likely explanation is an acute allergic reaction to the shrimp. If this has happened before after eating shrimp or shellfish then that is certain. Initial treatment for red itchy allergic rash is antihistamines (eg, diphenhydramine or Benadryl). After future exposure, if any sign of lip or tongue swelling, generalized itching, or wheezing, get immediate emergency care. ...Read more
