Pain In The Gallbladder Is Known As
I have suffered from severe gallbladder type pain for 11yrs. I had it removed 9yrs ago and still suffer. What could be wrong?
If i had a gallbladder i would say that was the problem but i don't what could be causing this pain?
What pain?: This is impossible to answer since you've given us no idea what pain you're talking about except that it's similar in some way to gallbladder pain. This makes me wonder if you might have post-cholecystectomy syndrome: http://www.Medfriendly.Com/postcholecystectomysyndrome.Html but your condition sounds too complex for a doc who knows little about you to diagnose online- see appropriate specialist. ...Read moreSee 2 more doctor answers
I have sludge in my gallbladder and have had recent pain there. Is there a downside to having it removed?
Always some risk: With any invasive procedure. Risks of removing a gb and stones/sludge are infection, bleeding, injury of nearby structures (liver, intestine, bile ducts). The risks without surgery would be worsening symptoms and risk of passing a small stone such as developing pancreatitis. It sounds like, for you, the risks without surgery are worse than risks with surgery. I'd likely advise you to have it too. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

I'm not saying that's what you need, just trying to give potentially helpful info. ...Read more

The pain during an obstructive episode is described as very severe, doubling some people over with discomfort, and then goes away in a few minutes. Severe cases of gallbladder obstruction can result in gangrene, perforation, peritonitis and death. ...Read more

Common duct stones: If you are having similar pain as you did when you had your gallbladder you may have common bile duct stones. Other symptoms you may have is vomiting and jaundice.
