I have pain in the belly button area, then i must pass gas to relieve the pain. No diarrhea, constipation or vomiting. What 'symptom' is this?
Many possibilities: You have to think about external as well as internal causes. Has there been any external trauma to the area in sports, playing, etc? Thinking of internal issues, is there a history of constipation, lactose intolerance, inflammatory bowel disease? Meckel's diverticulu: There is a concept called referred pain. Pain felt at the belly button could be generated anywhere in his gut from just outside of his stomach to his mid-transverse colon-in other words, not very specific location. Abd pain: Over the computer this is tough to say what is wrong. It could be a severe case of simple IBS-d to something more serious such as an infection, overt diverticulitis, referred pain from an inflamed appendix, etc. The best advice is that with any "severe" pain, you need to be seen emergently.
