When I walk down a flight of stairs my left ankle hurts. Pain at the inner side of ankle. What?

Tendonitis?: Sounds like tendonitis and the inner ankle tendons are under a lot of stress when walking down hill or down stairs. Is that left foot arch also "flatter" than the right? If so you need to have that evaluated. Does this happen barefoot or with shoes? Could also be early signs of arthritis or problems from a previous ankle sprain. Without : Without more information, it's impossible for me to give you a meaningful answer. If you've been having heel pain and walking in such a way as to avoid pain in your heel, it's possible the pain you're getting now is just from overuse in walking to avoid pain. Why do I feel a sharp pain in the middle of the bottom of my foot when i run?

Why do I feel a sharp pain in the middle of the bottom of my foot when i run?

Possibly nerve: The sharp pain sensation can be the result of a nerve that is being irritated in the arch area and/or the result of a ligament/tendon that may be pulled while you bear weight. This is something you want to see a foot specialist for in order to have your foot checked, gait evaluated and shoes checked. Don't run through it, not checking it could eventually slow you down. ...Read more

NEED FOR SUPPORT!: Most shoes aren't always what is bad, usually it's the crummy insoles they come with! there are many possibe reasons (plantar fascitis leaps to mind) that you may have pain in the heels, but try arch supports like spenco polysorb (http://www.Spenco.Com/products/footcare/poly-sorb) and otc anti-inflammatories (like aleve). If these don't help, see a podiatrist. ...Read more
