As of 2-3 weeks ago, i've felt and heard my achilles' tendon snap almost daily. The noise is a bit as if snapping fingers. It doesn't hurt when it snaps, but i did feel pain in the area for a few days?

Maybe...: Not your achilles tendon but another tendon in the back of your ankle ( tendon to the great toe). It is common for it to trigger or snap when an inflamed portion goes in and out of a tunnel that holds it in place. See a doc for an evaluation and possible ultrasound or mri. ...Read more

Sprain vs. tear: It would be best to see a Podiatrist for a quick evaluation and diagnosis as this could be a sprain or represent a small tear. additional possibilities include tendonitis or even an impingement syndrome. With an accurate diagnosis your MD can determine if stretching, an anti-inflammatory, rest/ice/massage or some time with a Physical therapist is the next step. Can one palpate the peroneal artery or is it below superficial muscle? Does it run on out side of the Achilles tendon? I feel something hard in area.
