Pain s/p gallbladder: Can be retained stone-, scarring, biliary ( bile duct )dyskinesia, or adhesions ( adhesions- sticking of surfaces after surgery is hard to detect except visually at laproscopy) , check lipase for pancreas effects and for h pylori a stomach bacteria that may be complicating the picture. No. : Hi, in the first few weeks after a gall bladder removal a few pts may get some diarrhea but this resolves soon. Over time most patients who have had their gall bladder removed for the appropriate reasons have no trouble whatsoever and lead a normal life. Hope this helps. ...Read more

Occasionally people have trouble digesting very fatty meals but that is not good for you anyway and can be managed by a moderately low fat diet.
