Yes if unstable: The neck and shoulder blade pain can be a sign of lower cervical disk disease. The pain you are describing may be a combination of more than one problem. A torn labrum does not always require surgery. If the shoulder is unstable then you will require surgery to control the pain and prevent further shoulder joint damage.
