ARealPainInTheButt!!: It's common to get pain in that area. If I'm guessing correctly, that's the upper area of your pelvic bone where i joins the sacrum (a wide triangular bone). Prolonged sitting or improper lifting or running can kick it off. It's really annoying. I've heard that a chiropractor could help with this but it will recur unless you give attention to proper posture and spinal alignment. ...Read more

You might be right: yes this could be a pinched nerve but I would think from the location this may be more of a muscle injury. You can have this evaluated by a physician, see if the area that you touch on the site is tender, see if there could be something else to entrap a nerve.
