The last few months I have been gettin weird pains after period. 1 to 2 days after it finishes im bloated, constipated &stitch like pain in right side?
This is a somewhat: Unusual time to experience bloating/constipation/pain. These symptoms are commonly a part of the PREmenstrual symptom complex, but not so much afterward. I do suspect the right lower quadrant pain is related to GI function/constipation. Increase fiber/water in diet, consider psyllium supplements to help with constipation. I would also discuss with your doctor to decide if any tests needed. Stay well ...Read more

Pleurisy vs ETAP: A "stitch sensation" could be a number of things. If this is occurring with exercise, it could be what is called an Exercise Induced Transient Abdominal pain (which we think may be due to lowered oxygen to the bowel or abdominal muscles or increased lactic acid production). If it is not occurring with exercise, it could be Pleurisy or Chest Wall Pain. Recommend if does not improve, see your Doc ...Read more

I have a reoccurring stitch-like pain in my left side ribs. It feels better if I raise my arm. What causes it?
Fold in the pleura: This is a knife-like pain that happens from time to time to many of us and taht gets worse as we breathe in. There are many myths, but what is actually happening is that the pleura folds on itself, like underwear might do. A very deep breath will generally end this, or it will self-cure. It's almost never related to disease and if you have no other symptoms, ignore it. ...Read more
Go see your doctor: By "stitch", I assume you mean pain, not suture material. Based on that little bit of information, i'd be just shooting in the dark giving you a list of possibilities. Best thing to do is to go see your doctor if it persists or gets worse. You might have anything ranging from pulled muscle to kidney stone to kidney infection to shingles to who knows what. Of course, you might also have a suture. ...Read more

How to take care of a 1/4 inch wide and deep cut without stitches? It's been 3 days & the wider side of the cut isn't healed yet.
Careful cleaning: The greatest risk to wound healing at this stage is infection, and so with that in mind you must gently wash the wound at least daily with soap and water and keep it dressed throughout the day. Watch for thick drainage from the wound, worsening pain, or hot red swelling. There are special tape bandages made (e.g. steri-strips) which can hold the wound edges together without stitches if you wish. ...Read more

Intestinal gas: Mid-thirties female with left sided transient occasional "stitch" describes discomfort aroused by intestinal gas caught up at the flexion of the transverse to the descending colon on the left. Hard to say w/o exam: A stitch will usually go away pretty quickly after stopping exercise. I recommend calling your doctor. I woke up this morning with a stitch like pain through the right side of my ribs wich worsens when I breath in deep, pain also tracels over my shouler?
Many tests done: Sharp shooting pains in the rib cage may be due to pinching of the intercostal nerve. A deep breath often accentuates it. If there is tenderness on touching the rib cage I would recommend a spot xray of that rib area. Pinching of these intercostal nerves tend to come and go and are a nuisance rather than a serious problem. Your physician can advise you. ...Read more
Colonic flexure: What you're describing is called a "runner's stitch" altho it can occur during any kind of exercise, particularly high impact. It's due to pressure from a collection of gas where the colon takes a sharp bend under either side of the rib cage. Avoiding eating and drinking carbonated or hot beverage at least 2 hours before exercise may help. "Stitches" aren't serious and resolve quickly at rest. ...Read more
