Fluids, Fiber: Sounds like you've got hard stools, which can be painful. I suggest 1-2 tablespoons full of psyllium husks (Metamucil, Konsyl) in a glass of water. Spasm: I am not sure of what all your symptoms are but most likely spasm. Of note this will happen more with stress or irritable bowel.
