All symptoms for past few days: pain in lower right back side, no bowel movement, clamy hot and cold, sweats, fever at night. Have taken magnesium citrate but no BM.
Try a few doses of: Milk of Magnesia (magnesium hydroxide). If no BM, you may have a fecal impaction requiring manual removal. This can be done in a minor emergency facility. Usually a short time: Constipation from opiates usually resolves in a week or two; in fact, often in withdrawal, especially cold turkey, there is diarrhea for a while instead. I would recommend taking a stool softener twice daily (colace (docusate sodium) or surfak), making sure you have lots of fiber in your diet. If it persists for more than 2 weeks, see your doctor. Constipation ; back: Constipation can cause some back pain and so treating the constipation may help your trouble. Consume more fresh fruits/veggies, fluids, and there are quite a few fibers available otc. Motrin/tylenol etc...
