Need physical exam: Swollen lymph nodes are never normal. You really need to be examined by a physician to figure out what is going on. Many times, infections can be the cause of swollen lymph nodes in the groin but there are many other causes. Could be...: A few different things. Tender is usually a good sign. If you have a few relatively small tender lymph nodes & you struggle with allergies or have a cold, those could cause it. However if you have a very lg node/nodes, it's best to get that checked out. Doubt mycoplasma: Mycoplasma pneumoniae causes respiratory infections, but it's not a common cause of sore throat or inflamed nodes in the neck. This sounds more like a garden variety viral infection, and no antibiotic will help. Or maybe strep throat? Not sure what: initial symptoms or infection you were diagnosed with... Normal blood tests are reassurring. With upper respiratory infections sometimes the lymph nodes will enlarge and become more tender in the first few days or week of antibiotic treatment while the infection is being treated.
