Few things: Most likely this is a referred pain from the shoulder. Check to see if the pain is increased with movements of the arm and shoulder. If so then this is likely a musculoskeletal problem. If the movements do not hurt then it could be a referred pain from the neck. If it has been going on for more than a few weeks, and is not any better, then go see your doc. ...Read more

Best to see MD: It seems like the muscle to perform those functions are inflamed or even torn as in rotator cuff tear or labral tear. Pinched nerve?: It sounds like you might have a pinched nerve in your neck. I would suggest finding a local do for some omm. Hi Dr, I had a sever pain on my upper arm when I lift my arm or just move it around, I took a couple of Tylenols (acetaminophen) and the pain got reduced but I still feel is there with some movements. what else can it take ? thanks - Oscar
