Maybe muscle or nerv: You may have pinched a nerve, pulled muscle, and early in such an injury ice will help but now you need to use heat. You may need to see your physician, and even see physical therapy, and get imaging. You can try Tylenol (acetaminophen) or over-the-counter Advil or Aleve, if you are comfortable with that

What causes neck pain when taking a deep breath?

Valsalva Maneuver: Neck pain with a deep breath or pain when you bear down like when you are having a bowel movement is called Valsalva Maneuver and may indicate the presence of stenosis in the neck, a narrowing of the spinal canal. If it persists, or if you also have pain or numbness that radiates into your arms, you may need to be evaluated by a physician and may need an MRI of your neck.

Why does my back pop when I take a breath n laying down? It does not hurt its more relieving because I get back n neck pain that comes n goes

Why does my back pop when I take a breath n laying down? It does not hurt its more relieving because I get back n neck pain that comes n goes

Not Serious: The "pop" you feel is generally your joints moving over each other. Similar to cracking your knuckles, this movement can make an audible sound. As long as this is not painful it is unlikely to be of any clinical significance.

Facet mediated: Most if the time, when patients describe a popping sensation in their neck, they are describing an abnormality of the facet joints. These are the small joints at the back of the neck that mediate rotation and extension of the neck. Don't hesitate to be seen if you are having problems.

Woke up with chest and neck pain. Couldn't fall back to sleep. Hurts terribly when I breathe deep. Never experienced any of these symptoms before.?

Could be: A pinched nerve. These are common especially when we sleep the wrong way. Chest pain should always be concerning and get checked out, but we see it alot with the pinched nerves which can start in the neck. When muscles / nerves are effecting in the chest cavity, often times, there is the pain during breathing.

I've been having back pain and neck pain for the last two days. My back is sore but I get a sharp pain when I take a deep breath.

Back: Likely just muscle pain with spasm. Use Motrin and heat to area. However, if you are short of breath or dizzy you should see your doctor. Any leg pain and or swelling if so see your doctor. If you smoke and you are on birth control you are at risk for blood clots which can cause chest or upper back pain.

Hi just wondering if there would be an obvious diagnosis for shortness of breath, unintentional weightloss, fatigue, neck pain back pain, galactorr?

Weight, pain galactor: Could be obvious if I talked to you and looked at you. But not without that. Discuss with your team. Knowing how old you are, what meds you are taking and if you are pregnant would be a good start. Lets do 2nd opinion

Pain in right arm between shoulder and elbow. Neck pain numbness and tingling down my arm. Now short of breath.

Pinched nerve: Sounds like you may have a pinched nerve in the neck. Often patients will develop numbness, tingling, and pain that radiates from the neck down the arm. Depending on the nerve that is pinched, it will affect different parts of the hand. Over time, weakness in the arm may develop as well. I would recommend getting it checked out. You may need an EMG and/or MRI

Have you been seen?: Certainly, we are seeing many viral illnesses that involve cough and phlegm. But it sounds as though you are suffering here. Your back, neck, and side pain could be the result of straining to cough. I wonder if you have bronchitis or sinusitis. If you've had a history of asthma, you may be "hit harder" by these illnesses. Please go in to be checked - or rechecked. And drink your water! Lgromkomd.

I'm having tingling in my left arm, pain in my chest and arm as well, dizziness, loss of breath, and neck pain. This supposedly isn't my heart.

I'm having tingling in my left arm, pain in my chest and arm as well, dizziness, loss of breath, and neck pain. This supposedly isn't my heart.

Who says it isn't: Who says it isn't heart related. How long have you had this. Is this acute? Evet though you are young if you have not had an evaluation then heart needs to be ruled out. If this is a chronic problem then you need a more involved workup including musculoskeletal and neurological studies.

See a physician: This could be a number of things, including a herniated disc that is flared up and causing irritation to surrounding nerve roots. I would recommend a physical exam and thorough history to be safe.
