Gastritis & ulcer: If you're still suffering from burning pain in stomach despite taking Protonix every day, ask your prescribing doc for another option like omeprazole or lansoprazole. Specifics please: In what position do you feel better/ worse? What is the quality of pain--sharp, stabbing, pressure, bloating, gassiness? Where in your abdomen (upper, mid, lower) do you experience discomfort? Duration pain lasts? Is pain deep or superficial? Have you seen blood with stool or change in bowels? Stomach pain: I assume you're referring to the right side of your abdomen (area between rib cage & pelvis), rather than organ insider abdomen. Unfortunately, your description is too vague. Right lower quadrant pain could be your appendix. Right upper quadrant pain could be liver or gall bladder. Pancreatitis, gastritis or peptic ulcer might be right sided.
