Spasms? My lower abdomen is twitching no pain it's just annoying. It more to the right side could it just be spasms just started about an hour ago

Wouldn't worry: Twitching abdominal muscles are different from spasming abdominal muscles. One hurts like a son of gun and one hurts like a son of a daffodil (i.e. doesn't hurt at all). Wouldn't worry about it....do your homework and it'll be gone by then. But if not and you're worried you are welcome to contact me at: www.healthtap.com/drsaghafi Key Code: PDXFNR All the best! ...Read more

I am a female and I have pain in my lower left side of my abdomen and the pain gets worse when I urinate or put pressure on it. What could it be?

I suspect: bladder infection with the possibility of left side pyelonephritis. See your doctor preferably a urologist. Urine test and imaging studies probably are needed together with antibiotic. To send an e-mail click here https://www.healthtap.com/experts/12714048-dr-vahe-yetimyan ...Read more

What could be wrong? I am a 18 year old female who has been experiencing some pain in my abdomen lately but has begun to decrease in pain. The pain alternates between the right side of my belly button and below my belly button and is a sharp pain. It only

It : It is very unlikely that you are pregnant since it has been 4 weeks, you have had a period in that time, and you used protection. Pain in this area is very tricky since there are many organ systems in the epigastric area and right upper quadrant of the abdomen. - stomach - problems such as gastroesophageal reflux, gastritis, and stomach ulcers can cause pain in these areas - usually worse with eating and worse while laying down - pancreas - pancreatitis, pancreatic stones/blockages can cause epigastric pain, sometimes radiating to the back - liver/gallbladder - hepatitis, gall stones or gall bladder disease can cause pain in the right upper quadrant - intestinal - duodenal ulcers, infections and constipation can cause pain there because the colon loops up into that area - kidney - kidney stones or infections can cause pain in the right upper quadrant, though many people feel it in their backs. - gyne - ovarian pain from a cyst or even an infection from a sexually transmitted disease can cause pain in the right upper quadrant. And all those are just a few of the things that could be going on! so, your best option is to be seen by a doctor and examined to determine the cause of your pain. Reasons to go to the er are: - high fever - bloody stool - bright green or bloody vomit - severe or worsening pain - difficulty breathing. ...Read more

I am a fourteen years old female having severe pain in the left side of my lower abdomen please what can it be?

See Physician: Pain in the left lower abdomen can be due to several things given your age. Constipation is a VERY common cause of abdominal pain in adolescents. Other causes in adolescent females include ovarian cyst, a ruptured cyst or ovarian torsion (when the ovary twists and cuts off blood flow to itself), and infection in the pelvis . See your doctor.: There are many things that can cause right lower sided abdominal pain in a young woman. Since it is worse with standing, however, it should be evaluated by your doctor. It is not likely, but always possible that you could have appendicitis, and that needs to be looked at. Good luck. ...Read more

18 year old female experiencing mild lower back, lower abdomen, and side pain (especially left side) for over 2 weeks.

Diffuse pain: See a human doc and give him/her a thorough history and detailed physical examination. That is the key to good medicine! You may be asked to have a laboratory exam and imaging (ultrasound or MRI, etc) exams and possibly see a specialist if he's stumped. Hopefully in the words of Frank Mankowicz (in "Casablanca") "This may be the beginning of a beautiful relationship." ...Read more
