Wouldn't worry: Twitching abdominal muscles are different from spasming abdominal muscles. One hurts like a son of gun and one hurts like a son of a daffodil (i.e. doesn't hurt at all). I : I am going to assume that it is an ovarian cyst. You are right in not wanting to keep taking pain pills. Pain pills are addictive and should be avoided whenever possible. Actually, Ibuprofen often works better for cysts than pain pills. However, since you are still having pain, you should have a re-evaluation, preferably by a gynecologist. There are other treatments besides pain pills. If you are in severe pain, have a fever, vomiting, or new complaints then you must be seen as an emergency. ...Read more

Unlikely: How are your bowels? Look for fever and nausea for appendicitis. For gas bubble (relative constipation) look to see if your diet is full of fiber and minerals, exercise daily and drink water. An emergency!: When lower abdomen hurts when you breathe in, it is likely that you are developing peritonitis in that area. This can be cause by an appendix about to burst, or by an enlarging cyst on your right ovary. The former is an emergency, the latter can be serious, or just caused by an egg popping out of your ovary halfway between periods. Only medical evaluation can help tell the difference!
