Belly and back pain: Hi gamergirl, at this point I would suggest going to your doctor asap. You are on immune suppressive medications which could put you at risk for infections. Kidney stones, gall stones, gastritis, pancreatitis, urinary tract infections, constipation, and diverticulitis are just a few things your doctor will look for. That doesn't include gynecology. Go see your doctor please. ...Read more

Pain in lower left abdomen pain in left hip and leg, nausea headaches fatigue what's going on so far all tests show nothing constant swollen glands?

Your doctor can give: Your pcp can provide some answers to explain what is going on. You do have enough symptoms to locate the cause either in your abdomen or there may be some sort of infection. Just be patient because either you will start feeling better soon or something/the cause, will be discovered by your doctor. Sometimes a second opinion can help. ...Read more

Can you pull a muscle in your lower left abdomen? To the immediate right if the left hip?

Yes: There are large muscles in the abdominal wall, so there is certainly a chance of injuring the muscle by heavy lifting or other strains to the abdomen. My left side (lower left abdomen near hip, and my lower left back just above hip) have been hurting when I am relaxed or when I urinate?

Can't be certain: The location with the association with pain with urination makes one consider whether there is an infection along the urinary track. There are other structures there including the intestines. The side of the pelvis above the hip could suggest muscular. You need to discuss this with your physician ...Read more

What would cause pain or what is located in lower left abdomen, near hip bone? The pain is transient, sharp, and happening more often now.

Stones vs 'ticulitis: Left lower quadrant pain makes me think of diverticulitis (inflammation of pain-free diverticulosis), kidney stones & ovarian cyst/torsion. Having severe pain in my lower left abdomen/pelvis when I sit up, sit down, twist, and the very first stage of intercourse.

Left side pain: No simple answer. At your age, the physician who does your PAP smear would be a good choice to see if your recurrent pain is brief, intermittent as in previous episodes. If there is any chance you are pregnant or if the pain becomes persistent, you should go to the emergency room. Home pregnancy tests are usually reliable to exclude possible pregnancy. ...Read more

I get sharp pains in my abdomen after I eat any normal meal. I recently got incredible sharp pains on my lower left side of my hip.

IBS: Teenagers w. "sharp abdominal pain" & unilateral "hip pain" seeks etiology/medical treatment. If symptoms are more than transitory, a unifying dynamic might be pelvic soft tissue/ligament disorder. My experience: young persons w. injured & hypermobile sacroiliac joints often have IBS symptoms; from dysautonomia whereby parasympathetic nerves are impinged in region of proximate ventral SIJ sulcus. ...Read more

I have had pain in my left hip for about 4 months now on and off, plus pain on standing I get a sudden sharp pain across my lower abdomen.

You need an exam: I saw that you've been "waiting awhile" for an answer. The reason you've been waiting is that no one can diagnose these symptoms without doing an abdominal, pelvic and hip exam. Sorry, a quick answer would have been great, but an exam is important. It's not clear if the pains are related, but if so, is there an abdominal problem causing referred pain? An exam would help make that more clear. ...Read more

My lower right abdomen is bigger than left side, I've pain in the hip area, and doctor says its psoas injury (1/2 y). Could it be something else?

My lower right abdomen is bigger than left side, I've pain in the hip area, and doctor says its psoas injury (1/2 y). Could it be something else?

Yes: The psoas muscle is used in sitting down. Do you have pain when you do that? Pain can be due to inguinal hernias which I assume was ruled out by ultrasound. The most dangerous to miss would be a stress fracture of the femural neck. Has your enlarged lymph nodes, diarrhea, and blood in stools been explained? There could also be an abscess. Might need a CT scan/hip xrays. Ortho consult. ...Read more

Left hip/ leg pain: Follow up with doctor this week. Would consider CT of abdomen/pelvis to ensure no cancer, check renal function as that can cause anemia as well. Did you have inflammatory bowel because if that recurrs in small intestine or ileum can cause anemia (though usuallyright side). Also consider hip films to check for arthritis. ...Read more

30 weeks pregnant on Saturday.. Pinching pain in lower abdomen in joints on left hip only. Help?

Relaxin: The placenta produces a hormone cleverly called "Relaxin" because it causes the joints of pregnant women to relax. This provides more space for the baby to squeeze through the bony pelvis during labor; however, it can also cause some pain in your other joints. If you are having persistent pain in your lower abdomen, you should probably be seen in OB triage at the hospital. Best wishes. ...Read more
