I do gym but dont know i have severe sharp pain in left side of my lower back.Pain increases while sitting but not in walking and laying.

Treat muscle sprain: It seems like you have sprained muscle in your left lower back. Apply heat there. Some people report better results with ice than heat. You can use both or either one. Use anti inflammatory drugs like Advil or Aleve (naproxen). Also rest is very important, Avoid bending and lifting. Also avoid exercises that cause pain in that area.
