Diagnosed UTI, spread to kidneys. Stabbing pain left lower back, painful hips and ankles now. Is this normal and what can I do to alleviate the pain?

Flank pain, under the back lower ribs, is common with pyelonephritis but painful hips and ankles is not a normal part of UTI or pyelonephritis.
