Pain In Left Flank Area
Have been on 875 amoxicillan 2x daily for 6 days for a UTI tonight started having significant pain in left flank area and neck if that means anything?
Kidney infection?: Many UTI bacteria are resistant to amoxicillin, and your flank pain suggests your infection is continuing and may have spread to your kidney (pyelonephritis). This can be serious, sometimes needing hospitalizaton for IV antibioics, or tests for kidney stone. Call your doctor immediately; if s/he isn't available, go to an urgent care clinic or emergency room, no matter how late at night it may be. ...Read more
Have a pain on the left flank area, stays dull but will get times of sudden sharp pains. Intensifies when taking a deep breath or sneezing?
See your doctor: Pains in the left flank could be related to an infection or even growth in your lower lung. If you have had any recent trauma, an injury to your muscles, kidney, or rib fracture or bruise can cause flank pain. Also, sudden sharp pains with sneezing, particularly if they spread down your buttock and back of your legs can result from a pinched nerve in your spine. So get an exam! ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
If you have pain in the left flank area that wraps around the side and to the front just under rib cage would that be kidney, muscle or what?
I was just diagnosed by endoscopy with hiatal hernia, GERD, and erosive gastritis. Would any of these cause pain in the left side waist/flank area?
2 days sharp stabbing pain left side in waist/flank area. Hurts to deep breathe. Tender to touch. Nausea. Constipation. Groin pain. Burning feeling.
The pain and swelling is in the left flank area the pain wraps around to the front. It's the swelling i find strange any idea what would cause this?
Where's swelling?: Flank pain that wraps around to front makes me think of kidney stone. Typically, this pain comes & goes as your ureter attempts to push stone down tube, which can lead to blood in urine. Drink plenty of water to keep yourself hydrated & hasten movement of stone (if that's what's causing pain). Go see your family doc for evaluation & treatment. ...Read more
I'm having sensitivity in my back left flank area. It causes mild pain to the touch and occasional random pain. Just below where ribs end on back side?
I have achy type pain in my left flank middle of my back area and it sometimes radiates around to my upper abdomen.
Thoughts...: It could be a variety of things... Gas, stomach ulcer, gastritis, kidney stones. Your doctor will probably do a urine test looking for blood (from a kidney stone), do a thorough back and abdominal exam. Make sure you get it checked out if it's persisting, especially if you're having fevers or bowel changes. Best of luck! ...Read more
