Chest pain: Any chest pain in a 43 year old male especially with radiation to the left arm needs to be immediately evaluated. Heart attacks can present with those symptoms. Normally the pain with a heart attack is described as heavy and crushing, not niggling and stabbing but I think it is best to be safe. ...Read more

To ER: Other than cardiac disease which will worsen with exertion and also cause shortness of breath, it could be radicular pain from a cervical level. If you haven't been evaluated by a physician, you should be seen ASAP. Sharp chest pain isn't typical for cardiac disease, but women have atypical symptoms. Even young people can have heart disease. Tingling in the arm: The tingling and pain along with numbness sometimes, is a symptom of a nerve pinched in the cervical (neck) spine. Possibly due to an injury such as falling forward or any jerky motion (incl chiropractic manipulations).
