Sprain/Strain ?: It depends on how the long the symptoms have gone on for. It could be just from sprain/strain of muscle, the hip itself or the problem could be coming from the low back as well . Depends: This depends on what your imaging reveals. Lumbar stenosis can cause back pain and pain into thighs which are worse with ambulation. Shouldn't: While the pelvis is all interconnected, the pubic bone is in the front, and shouldn't cause swelling. It is curious why you think this joint is unstable.
