Swelling in entire left leg (calf and thigh) with numbness x3 days. Pain in groin. History of total hip (left) replacement 3 years ago. DVT ruled out.

Need vascular eval: This could be lymphedema however a missed venous problem (iliac vein) is also a possibility. Infection unlikely without fever or pain, arterial problem unlikely with swelling and fluid overload not likely if it is only one leg. You should see a vascular specialist to have a complete evaluation including of the veins in your abdomen and pelvis.

Here are some....: Clinically, you likely suffer from some disorders of local muscles, joints, or nerves which, at their stage, can not be detected by any imaginable studies although possibly well serving high demand of political correctness for reassurance & commercialism for money. Need MRI Pelvis: There could be stretching or direct compression of one of the lower lumbar nerve roots. You should have your doctor order an MRI of the pelvis and see a neurologist or neurosurgeon to look for compression or nerve injury.

I have moderate pain in lower left pelvis radiating down left thigh/leg which is slightly numb/tingly?

Sciatica: Inflamation of sciatic nerve, due to excessive walking, too much exercise, picking up heavy objects and overworking the left leg. Give yourself rest and take Motrin 600 mg 3 times a day for 3 weeks. If the pain still persists, you will need a trigger point injection of Depo Medrol (methylprednisolone) 60 mg and 1.5cc 0.5% marcain. For injection you will see your doctor.

Left upper leg, front, from above knee to pelvis, feels numb whenever I stand for a while. Also slight strain left pelvis at same time. Nerves? Clot?

Left upper leg, front, from above knee to pelvis, feels numb whenever I stand for a while. Also slight strain left pelvis at same time. Nerves? Clot?

It could be a nerve: Issue, it could be a circulatory issue or it could be a musculoskeletal issue. Regardless, in the context of your other issues (headache, low body weight and weakness), you need to be evaluated by your personal physician. Best wishes. Dr. Anne

Neurological pain in groin/inner thigh/pelvis area, now altered sensation and numbness in same place. Possible causes?

Nerve compression: Might be due to localized nerve compression or compression in the spinal cord. Please seek medical evaluation if these symptoms persist, especially if you experience any incontinence (uncontrolled urination or defecation) as this can be a sign of a serious medical condition.

I have broken my pelvis in 3 places and my saccrum. What would cause my left thigh to be numb to my knee?

I have broken my pelvis in 3 places and my saccrum. What would cause my left thigh to be numb to my knee?

Femoral nerve: Broken pelvis can be a cause of femoral nerve damage. Also if you consider the mechanism of trauma causing pelvic fracture, I wonder if there is associated l2-3-4 spine injury. You see your doctor.

Why could I have pain on my right hip, which makes my right leg numb?

Why could I have pain on my right hip, which makes my right leg numb?

Pain from your back: A pinched nerve in your back or sciatica will frequently feel like hip pain. The pain is referred from the damaged nerve. Occasionally a hip will be so inflamed that it irritates the nerve traveling down your leg, but typically hip pain does not cause numbness in the leg. See your doctor and get it checked out.

My left leg has been numb for more than two days now between my hip and knee, what could be causing this?

My left leg has been numb for more than two days now between my hip and knee, what could be causing this?

A couple of causes.: A number of possibilities, including a spinal lesion with a pinched nerve which supplies the area between the hip and knee; a superficial nerve getting trapped near the outer & lower part of the tummy, can cause numbness (and pain) between the hip and the knee. The medical term for this is meralgia paraesthetica. Another rare cause maybe a swelling in pelvis lying near a nerve.

I've got numbness on outer left leg from hip to above knee, what do I do?

I've got numbness on outer left leg from hip to above knee, what do I do?

See doctor: This may be meralgia paresthestetica. A nerve that give sensation to the area that gets 'pinched' up outer groin region. Can also be iliotibial band syndrome, a tough band of tissue that goes from your hip to knee that becomes inflammed. Check with your doctor.
